The"to be me"
In to be me (2015), internal organs and bones of animal carcass are placed on the artist's face and body. The animals are wild ducks and Hokkaido Ezo-Shika deers which Suzuki hunted with a rifle by herself. She is a real hunter for not only animals but also our daily life. She contrasts her own body with those animals who sacrificed their lives for her, and it seems that there is a strong consciousness reflecting the fact that a matter of life and death is in the hands of humans.
In search for her own self, the uneasiness around such subjects as sexuality or life and death in Suzuki's works bring out the complexity of one's life.
